The most ill times op-ed in history

Ted Olson's argument in favor of a shield law for reporters who use confidential sources. This comes at a time when many on Congress are calling for the reporters to be required to give up the name of the sources who have revealed classified information. Reporters and the media have acted so irresponsibly in this war that I would oppose the legislation that Olson is supporting. Instead of a shield there are some reporters who would more appropriately face criminal charges.

Update: I think QandO gets it about right on why there is national shield law.
