Brits arrest al Qaeda suspect believed to be working with human bomb attacks in Iraq

Scotsman:

ANTI-TERRORIST police today arrested a man in Manchester in connection with suicide bomb attacks on coalition forces in Iraq.

Around 30 officers raided a house in Moss Side, Manchester, at 5am today and arrested a 40-year-old man. Greater Manchester Police said the arrest was not in relation to any threat in the UK but to "an incident overseas" involving suicide bomb attacks in Iraq.

It is believed the suspect, of north African origin, was based at the terraced property on Great Southern Street for some time.

Security sources said he was in contact with other terrorists via the internet.

Forensic experts are thought to be studying computer records to identify the al-Qaida network with which he had been communicating.

About 30 officers, including the elite SO13 Metropolitan Police anti-terror branch, were involved in the swoop at 4am today.

Security sources confirmed the suicide bomber was a member of al-Qaida. It is understood the investigation was prompted by information received from the Iraqi security forces.

Remember when Democrats used to want to fight al Qaeda. That was before they found out al Qaeda was fighting in Iraq. Now they want to do the Mogudishu boogy. And don't for get to call the military and the Bush administration Nazi, Stalinist, Pol Pot torturers.
