Kerry's minimum wage hypocracy
Chicago Tribune via Houston Chronical:
He is such a piker at spending other peoples money. Why not raise it $28 an hour? He says raising the minimum wage has never cost jobs. Their is evidence to contradict that statement, but if he is right why just raise it a pttance? Or would that entry level jobs? While he suggest that raising the rate will help women, most of the people it will help, who do not lose their job will be teenagers just entering the job market.
Chicago Tribune via Houston Chronical:
Sen. John Kerry on Friday called for raising the minimum wage to $7 an hour by 2007, saying the value of today's hourly minimum is at a 55-year low.
The Massachusetts Democrat, who is expected to be his party's presidential nominee, said a $1.85 increase in the $5.15 minimum wage could lift millions of people out of poverty.
