Gen. George C. Marshall, 1945

"We have tried since the birth of our nation to promote our love of peace by a display of weakness. This course has failed us utterly."

This raises the question of why the Democrat candidates running for president have not learned this lesson.

The Mogudishu strategy of bin Laden and Saddam is premised on making the US flee in the face of a few casualties. Apparently the strategy has worked to rout most of the Democrat field. If these candidates were elected, they would be very happy. What they need to succeed is for some "new patriots" to get in and pull the US back from the war on terror.
