Russians target Kyiv as their offensive continues to stall
Russian generals continue to fall as forces refocus their efforts on Ukraine’s capital.
Maj. Gen. Roman Kutuzov was killed in action this week, according to Russian state media journalist Alexander Sladkov. The journalist posted on Telegram that the general was killed, but no information about when and where he died was available, Reuters reported.
The Russian Defense Ministry has not commented on the general’s death.
Kutuzov’s death comes as Russian forces turn their attention back to Kyiv after weeks of relative calm in the country’s capital. The front lines of the war had shifted east to the Russia-friendly confines of the Donbas region.
However, war returned to Kyiv on Sunday, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
Later reports included accusations of Russian missiles flying “critically low” over a nuclear power plant.
“The Russians still do not understand that even the slightest fragment of a rocket that enters a working power unit can cause a nuclear catastrophe,” wrote Energoatom, Ukraine’s state nuclear power company, in a statement Sunday on Telegram.

The Russians have resorted to a scorched earth strategy after the failure of their attempts to take and control the Ukraine population failed. I do not think they care if they hit a nuclear plant. They do keep pushing their generals into harm's way and losing leaders in the process.
