Dem anti 2nd Amendment groups look to restrict gun sales

According to a report in Politico, anti-gun Democrats are scrambling to push their gun control agenda, fearing a potential flip of Congress in November that would bring their campaign to a screeching halt.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) is leading the charge, declaring to Politico, “It’s time for more urgency from the administration as the gun violence epidemic gets worse by the day.”

Just to clarify, Murphy isn’t the stolen valor senator from Connecticut. That was Richard Blumenthal, who lied about serving in combat in Vietnam. Chris Murphy is the senator from Connecticut. who wears the lousy toupee.

Murphy indicated some disappointment in President Joe Biden for not having moved his own gun control agenda swiftly forward. Politico reported that Murphy and 127 other Democrats sent a letter to Biden last month demanding that he show some momentum on three key issues:

  • Executive orders on federal gun licensing requirements and the creation of a “centralized task force to address gun violence.”
  • Announce a new nominee to head the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, since the first nominee—David Chipman—was withdrawn when it became clear his nomination was in trouble.
  • Adopt a regulation regarding so-called “ghost guns,” which are allegedly showing up at an increasing number of crime scenes.

According to Politico, “Democrats and gun control advocates argue that their voters need to see some sign of progress before the election — and executive actions like expanding background checks and installing a director of gun violence could help motivate them to turn out at the polls.”

If they actually try to do this they will grow the GOP turnout and incentivize 2nd Amendment voters. Democrats already have a shrinking base because of Biden's policies and this would be one more unpopular policy.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014.
