Trump sues Hillary Clinton over Russian collusion hoax

 Washington Examiner:

Donald Trump is suing Hillary Clinton, the Democratic National Committee, and other key players in the so-called Russiagate controversy, alleging they conspired to create a "false narrative" tying his 2016 campaign to Russia.

The former president seeks $72 million in damages in alleging that Clinton, his 2016 election rival, and others "orchestrated" a false plot to make it seem as though he was colluding with "a hostile foreign sovereignty" in an attempt to "vilify him," according to a Thursday court filing with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

"They worked together with a single, self-serving purpose: to vilify Donald J. Trump. Indeed, their far-reaching conspiracy was designed to cripple Trump’s bid for presidency by fabricating a scandal that would be used to trigger an unfounded federal investigation and ignite a media frenzy," the complaint says.

Jake Sullivan, a Clinton campaign adviser who is now President Joe Biden's national security adviser; former FBI Director James Comey; and former DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz are among the 28 individuals and corporations named as defendants in the lawsuit.

The 108-page complaint has a sweeping list of grievances, including the Russia investigation completed by special counsel Robert Mueller, and alleges racketeering, conspiracy to commit "injurious falsehood," and obstruction of justice, among other alleged crimes.

...

Trump may have a better shot with the case in South Florida than he would in New York although Miami has long been a liberal bastion in the state.  It is pretty clear from what Durham has uncovered so far that there was a conspiracy to denigrate him falsely that impacted the first few years of his term.  The discovery process should be interesting.
