Canada threatens protesters with financial ruin

Several dozen police officers in neon vests made their way into downtown Ottawa Thursday, handing out final written warnings to truckers and their supporters, telling them to go home or risk arrest and financial ruin.

It was the first time in 21 days that law enforcement officers outnumbered members of the so-called Freedom Convoy and its supporters in Canada's capital city.

For the most part, neither the truckers nor their supporters budged, with several telling the Washington Examiner they were willing to go to jail for the cause.

Pat King, one of the protest leaders, predicted Thursday morning that "there's no tow trucks in Canada that will touch [the rigs parked bumper-to-bumper]."

In a Facebook video, King warned fellow protesters that police were about to move in on them.

"It's going down!" he said. "Truckers, get up. Get on your radios. Get on your horns. One long blast. Let's go, guys."

I think Trudeau is wrong and will probably pay a political price for his refusal to do away with the hated mandates.  There is really no excuse for them anymore.  Many of the provinces have already dropped them as has most of the US.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014.
