Democrat controlled states doing worse than GOP controlled states

A new report published by Chicago-based Truth in Accounting found that the majority of state finances worsened in 2020, with taxpayer burdens skyrocketing.

In seven of the 10 states in the worst financial shape with the highest taxpayer burdens, the state government was under unified Democratic control (the governor and both houses of the state legislature were Democratic), while the other three were under divided control.

None of the 10 states in the worst financial straits were Republican-controlled.

The twelfth annual Financial State of the States report ranks all 50 states by their financial health based on the latest available data from states' fiscal year 2020 audited Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports.

The 10 states in the worst financial condition with the highest taxpayer burdens are: Connecticut ($62,500), New Jersey ($58,300), Illinois ($57,000), Massachusetts ($38,100), Hawaii ($37,000), Delaware ($31,300), Kentucky ($26,000), Vermont ($24,700), California ($21,100) and New York ($20,100).

Democrats control the state government in seven of those states: Connecticut, New Jersey, Illinois, Hawaii, Delaware, California and New York. In the remaining three — Massachusetts, Kentucky and Vermont — state government is under divided party control.

Liberal Democrats are poor managers who seem to budget based on wishful thinking instead of reality.  They also pretend that their wasteful spending on vote-buying schemes is an "investment."

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
