Many blacks have a sincere belief in what many whites see as lies told by a thief's alleged accomplice

NY Times:

After Ferguson Announcement, a Racial Divide Remains Over Views of Justice

Although whites and blacks have much more contact than they did decades ago, it appears that in some ways they go home to different worlds.
It is hard for many people to comprehend all this outpouring of sympathy for a criminal who resisted apprehension by a police officer.   They seemed wedded to a lie told in the initial description of the event and are not swayed by the forensic and other facts revealed by the investigation.

Their suggestion that blacks are being targeted by white cops ignores all the young black men being killed by other young black men.  That is a significantly greater problem for the black community, that I have never seen a demonstration about.  I have also not seen an explanation in the media for this failure to be outraged by the black on black homicide rate.  I also get the impression they are not that interested in protecting their black neighbors who are the victims of these crimes.

The demonstrations seem out of proportion to the reality of events.  How does the theft and destruction of people's property who were not even involved in the altercation amount to a search for justice?  They are fouling their own nest and making it less likely that people will be willing to invest in providing them with goods and services in the future.  If that is their alternate universe they are the ones who need to change.

They also need to ask themselves how is a mob demanding the death of a white policeman any different than a mob demanding the death of a black man for perceived crimes?  The immaturity of the thinking is striking.

It is also time to start calling the cries of "white privilege" just another ad hominem insult.
