It is too early for talk of 2016 candidacy

NY Times:

Cuomo Says Talk of White House Bid Is Premature

Addressing for the first time speculation in political circles that he might be a candidate for president in 2016, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said the talk could be “totally distracting.”
Cuomo is not an idiot, but he has to deal with a lot of them in New York.  He has government unions who refuse to face the reality that the state cannot afford the pension system they were able to get because of their corrupt bargain with Democrats.   He has to deal with idiotic opposition to fracking by opponents of drilling in the shale gas formation that is in Western New York.  Liberals are driving jobs out of the state with their unaffordable taxes.  But, hey, losing population is one way to reduce the unemployment.

He would also have to face the fact that policies he pushed while in the Clinton administration were responsible for the housing debacle that cratered the economy.  Liberals in New York may not be concerned about such things, but the rest of the country would see him as a tough sale.
