House should fix payroll tax now, not in Febuary

The Hill:
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Tuesday called on all House members to continue working on a year-long payroll tax bill this week and next, and said failing to fix the problem now would only lead to fighting today's fight all over again in February.
"Who doesn't believe that if we don't do this now, then when we get to February 28th, guess where we'll be?" he asked. "We'll be right here doing the same thing that we're doing right now."
"I just think the American people expect us to do our work," he added. "We've got 10 days to do our work, and we can resolve the differences between the House and Senate bills."
...
I think the House has the better argument.  The President and Harry Reid are acting petulant in not getting the deal done now.  Some have argued that they have the better political argument, but I don't see it that way.  By staying in session the House also keeps the President in town, and they keep him from making recess appointments.  That is also a sound political play.
