The Bachmann challenge for male competitors?

Michael Shear, NY Times Caucus Blog:

“The challenge is to disagree without crossing into an area where you sound condescending, patronizing or nasty,” Ms. Dunn, a Democratic communications strategist said. “It’s about tone and it’s about respect.”

I suspect the candidates will handle this challenge better than many in the media who are already attacking Bachmann for every perceived misstatement in a way they would never challenge President Obama.

The media will tend to play up her misstatements the way they have Sarah Palin's while they continue to ignore Obama screw ups. That is the uneven playing field that Republicans usually have to play on, only it is more so for conservative women.
