Syria tries to restore fear
This headline via Drudge gives some idea of what is happening in Syria:
How many of its own people does the Syrian government have to kill to restore fear and repressions? I suspect that this thugocracy is in the "whatever it takes" mode. That could lead to more murders of the people and more funerals where people will complain about the repressive government.
I don't think we will see Assad going for any walks in the neighborhoods where his security apparatus is killing people. It is too bad he is not out there talking to the people rather than hearing what his security team is telling him.
