Repeal of Doggett amendment

$830M in federal education aid on its way to Texas

Republicans were able to put the repeal in the funding agreement.  Rep. Doggett had put some strings on a federal grant that Texas thought could not be met, so the money has been in limbo.  Some other Democrats also supported the Doggett plan, but when they lost their majority they lost control of the issue.
