Democrats resort to the politics of fraud on 'Fair Tax'

The Hill:

...

Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) is just one of several Democratic candidates saying the FairTax -- a levy that replaces the federal income tax with a 23 percent sales tax on everything, including the purchase of a new home or car – is backed by Republicans and will bust family budgets if enacted into law.

Research supplied by FairTax.org shows that Democrats in 16 districts have run at least 31 ads blasting Republicans for supporting the tax. But many of these ads neglect to mention the levy is essentially a national sales tax that would replace the current federal tax system.

FactCheck.org recently slammed the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) for running ads that omitted this fact.

“Democrats are accusing Republicans of supporting a 23 percent sales tax on everything, which would be on top of all existing taxes… it’s misrepresenting by omission of the FairTax idea,” FactCheck.org director Brooks Jackson told The Hill.

...
Hey, it has been a bad year for Democrats and they are desperate. This is not the only issue where they practice fraud by omission. Bill Clinton was a master of the art and could really feel your pain too.

As part of the plan there would be an automatic rebate given to tax payers to offset the higher charges for food and other essentials.

  1. They're running that same ad in West Texas' 23rd Congressional District, currently represented by Ciro Rodriguez. Pretty nasty stuff, especially considering (if the other mudslinging in the ad is accurate) challenger Francisco Canseco has some pretty serious problems of his own, to the point that even I wonder why the GOP would run him. CR must be damned scared.

  2. With the number of non federal income taxpayers approaching the critical mass of 50%, never before in our nation's history have we needed to enact a fair taxation system more than now. http://www.christianretirement.com "Learn to Say No." America is experiencing problems in many areas. Sometimes, difficult issues must be addressed head on. The Fair Tax would insure that everyone would have the opportunity to step up and pay for the freedoms they so readily and freely enjoy.

  3. So you are fooled by Fairtax?

Sounded great, gotta admit. I beleived it for a while -- till I read the fine print and asked questions.

Fairtax fine print — check it out.

“Under our plan, all city and state goverments will pay to the federal government a tax on all their spending — on all their purchases, and on anything they pay for, including labor (wages).”

Fairtax -The Truth. Answering the Critics. Page 138.

Also — the other sentence ‘

“The Federal government ITSELF will become a major taxpayer”

    Fairtax Book, page 148.

Out of five books, and hundreds of thousands of pages online, out of 22 million dollars of supposed "research" they have less than 60 words TOTAL which show where most of their money comes from.

A tax on city and state governments!

Lets say that's even possible (it's not) Let's say that can possibly pass (it can't).

Why on EARTH would you barely mention the biggest source of your renenue?

Why not make a list of states -- and estimate how much each state government would have to pay, like their plan says?

Why not make a list of each city -- and estimate how much each city will have to pay the federal government?

Why not explain the massive tax on city and state government ON PAGE ONE?

Let me guess -- you were fooled by this BS and don't want to admit it. Typical.

Well, I was fooled too, but I looked into it, read up on it, and found out it's all BS and Fairtax knows it.
