Garnishment and bankruptcies

The AP studied bankruptcy filings and found that they were significantly higher in states that allowed creditors to seize the wages of the debtors. In five states that limit or prohibit the practice, Texas being one of them, the rates are as low as a quarter of that in neighboring states.
