When getting it wrong is alright with some

The NY Times has some fine writers on military operations despite its reputation for being anti war. Elizabeth Bumiller is not among those who comprehend strategy and teh military situation in Iraq. In her story on how the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs would have to adapt to the Obama administration she seems to take his being wrong about the surge as a virtue that will serve him well with the new President.

Bumiller seems to be among those at the Times who have ignored the success of the surge and the fact that the President Elect and some in the Military were wrong about it. They must be disappointed that we did not have the disaster they either predicted or desired.
