Ridiculous quote of the day
From the Houston Chronicle:
Maybe I should be named dean of the graduate school at St. Mary's. It does not look like Flores got that position by force of his logic. Cornyn is going to win this race because he is the better candidate and better represents Texas value. He is one of the most intelligent members of the Senate and has done a good job and deserves reelection. Noriega on the other hand has sided with the anti war pukes and the anti energy Democrats. That is probably why he is so far behind in raising money and votes.
...To gauge just how silly that analysis is substitute your own name for Rick Noriega's and then substitute Obama's name for Cornyn. So, "if Merv Benson ... had the same amount of money as Obama and he had almost equal name identification, I think Obama would be in trouble?" What this "analysis" overlooks is that there is a reason why one candidate has more money and name identification than the other. The main one is that he has earned more political support by virtue of his career achievements.
"If Rick Noriega ... had the same amount of money as Cornyn and he had almost equal name identification, I think Cornyn would be in trouble," Flores said.
