A code words for 'moronic'
A Kansas City writer attempts to make the case that calling someone socialist is using a code word for black. Admittedly, I have never heard used in that connotation and frankly don't think it carries that connotation. Jules Crittenden comments on the writers thesis.
...There is something about many Obama supporters that makes them want to shut off debate by injecting racism into the conversation. They need to work on resisting that temptation. It is making them appear unintelligent. Opposition to Obama's policies is not racist. It is called a political campaign.
Either that, or it’s a code word for “wealth-sharing enthusiast.” W.E.B. Dubois and Paul Robeson were socialists. A quick google search indicates Randolph was, too. Some dispute about Martin Luther King Jr. Apparently some people advised him to steer clear of socialists, and he had a fondness for socialist ideas.

Anyway, I’m going to have to call “Kansas City Star Editorial Page columnist” code words for “moron.” It’s beyond moronic. To paraphrase MLK Jr, it’s tragic that, at this late date, we cannot judge a man by the content of his political utterances without being accused of talking about the color of his skin.
