A former General everyone can support, sorta

Dana Milbank looks at the questioning of retired General James Jones and his commission studying security in Iraq. Senators selective heard what they wanted to hear and disregarded the rest. As usual the worst were the Democrats who are desperate to lose in Iraq and will grab for any excuse that allows them to argue for defeat.

Senators like McCain and Lieberman saw the good side of the report. Theirs was a more honest appraisal, because the report was not a brief for retreat, but an statement of the work that needed to be done to complete a victory. If you oppose victory, then anything that needed to be done was too much.
