Donor doubts hurt World Bank
The NY Times reports on the slipping support for the World Bank. They come up with a lot of reasons, but glide right over the obvious one. The bank has lost credibility because it is not willing to move against corruption. Its willingness to subsidize corruption which was the underlying cause for the ouster of Paul Wolfowitz is the best reason not to fund the organization. In fact it is a good reason to shut down the bank.
