"Disasters" and perspective

The Belmont Club introduces some statistics on those killed in action win World War II during our offensive against Japan. The numbers are pretty jarring especially if you believe what Democrats say about Iraq being a disaster. In eight major battles the US killed in action is nearly 40,000. The Japanese death total exceeds 450,000.

When you consider that the Iraq war death toll for US forces is less than ten percent of what we had in just the Pacific theater of World War II it makes it clear that Democrats and liberals are distorting the meaning of the word "disaster" the way they way they distorted the meaning of the word "lie."

People who don't understand what the word "lie" means or what the word "disaster" means should not be given the opportunity to lead this country. What we have seen from the left is a propaganda campaign to redefine these words for political purposes. When you see those words applied about the Iraq war, you should know that the speaker or the writer has an agenda that is inconsistent with the facts.
