CBS in new bogus attack on Bush
Power Line:
...When it comes to Iraq the willful ignorance of the left and much of the media is often on display and too seldom is it challenged. CBS's basic problem is that it does not understand the enemy or his strategy. Al Qaeda's Iraq strategy has been to create chaos by provoking sectarian strife. One of the aspects of defeating al Qaeda's strategy through the surge has been to reduce that sectarian strife. That goal is not inconsistent in anyway with our overall goal of defeating al Qaeda's operations in Iraq. You have to be a liberal who does not comprehend military operations to think otherwise.
CBS's report creates a conundrum. It is inconceivable that CBS's reporters would broadcast this segment without reading President Bush's speech of January 10. It is equally inconceivable that they could read that speech without realizing that there is, in fact, no contradiction between it and the President's speech in South Carolina yesterday. The obvious inference is that CBS has deliberately chosen to mislead and misinform its viewers on the most vital issue of our time. I would much rather not believe that. But what other explanation can there be?
