Looking for love or something like it online?
...The story actually leads with a service that looks for compatible seat mates on airline flights. I have always considered myself pretty tech savvy, but I am pretty sure I will not be using any of these services.
One of the more noteworthy is a site that seems to pay homage to Air Supply's hit song Making Love Out of Nothing at All. Celibatepassions.com boasts, "We help both celibate and asexual persons find significant others with compatible lifestyles." Not surprisingly, the majority of users are female. However, one male user named "quietman" proffered this: "I am a confirmed celibate, though I might consider fathering a kid." Maybe the Web site should also be called TheImmaculateConceptionPartDeux.com.If that seems like a big concept, then try this on for size: Largefriends.com. It's a networking site where plus-size singles can enjoy a safe and nonthreatening way to form friendships and relationships. On this site, the SWF (single white female) is subcategorized as either the BBW (big beautiful woman) or the SSBBW (super-sized big beautiful woman). Excuse me, sir, do you want thighs with those buns?
You won't find any BBWs or SSBBWs on the Web site DarwinDating.com. The site accepts only thin, fit, good-looking members and promises "no ugly, unattractive, desperate fatsos." It also notes: "Charles Darwin was a genius, but unfortunately very ugly." It is ironic that he wouldn't be able to join DarwinDating.com! Snap!
Darwin may not have been selected for his namesake Web site, but he could find love by visiting SeekingArrangement.com, a site that claims it's "the leader in adult, discreet, sugar daddy and married dating categories." This April, the site announced the launch of SeekingMillionaire.com, a millionaire dating Web site aimed at helping wealthy men and beautiful women cash in on love. The site asks that wealthy men pay a subscriber fee; "however, beautiful women can use the Web sites completely free." A suggestion for the sites' founder: classify the beautiful women as platinum-, silver- or gold-diggers.
