L.A. Fire Chief Kristin Crowley warned Mayor Karen Bass (D) last month the $17+ million she cut from the department's budget "severely limited the department's capacity to prepare for, train for, and respond to large-scale emergencies, including wildfires"
That could be one of the most costly budget cuts in history and the fires burn out of control in parts of the state. It does to be something of a statewide problem in California which used to be a well-run state when Republicans were elected to top positions. They miss the leadership of people like Ronald Reagan. BTW two of my grandchildren have, thankfully, been moved out of the fire zone.
