Democrats' mid-term woes are of their own making

Republican National Committee spokeswoman Nicole Morales told the Washington Examiner Joe Biden and Democrats had notched little more than destroying the American dream.

"Now, Democrats must answer to voters about why they are paying the price for historic inflation, record gas prices, and enabled Joe Biden's destructive policies," she said. "Democrats have no answers and will face reality in November."

Republican Cesar Conda added, "Voters are concerned about inflation and the cost of living. Washington, D.C., Beltway accomplishments won't do much to alleviate those concerns about the election."

"Great ambition often comes with great risk," according to Middlebury College politics professor Bert Johnson, citing Joe Biden's "whittled down" social welfare and climate bill.

"This may diminish enthusiasm among liberals, but we’d expect diminished enthusiasm anyway among members of the president’s party in an off-year election," he said. "In general, voters will make their choices largely based on economic factors — but of course, that’s not good news for Biden either right now."

While the Dems would like to blame Manchin, he is in fact closer to the voters' concerns about energy and inflation.  Biden is the one who drove up the price of gas on purpose and then when it became a political liability blamed gas stations. He can't erase all his statements where he bragged about the limits of fossil fuels.  BTW, the Dems in Congress were all for the anti-energy policies too.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014. When the Congressional Budget Office crunched Obamacare's spending numbers, they estimated that only 7% of employees currently covered by employer-sponsored plans would lose their plans. ...
