Iranian leader makes misleading statements about that country's war plans

President Hassan Rouhani said Iran "never seeks war" with the US, state media reported Wednesday amid a spike in tensions between the two countries.

"Iran has no interest to increase tension in the region and it never seeks war with any country, including (the) US," the president said, quoted by state news agency IRNA.

Rouhani was speaking by phone to his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, as Tehran and Washington engaged in an escalating war of words following Iran shooting down a US drone last week.

"We have always been committed to regional peace and stability and will make efforts in this respect," the Iranian president told Macron.

What he really means is that he does not want a direct confrontation with the US which he would obviously lose.  Instead, Iran uses its proxy forces to ambush US troops in Iraq and it uses the Houthis in Yemen to attack the government and the Saudis and it uses Hezballah to attack Israelis.  Iran also used Hezballah to attack US Marines on a peacekeeping mission in Lebanon.  It always takes a cowardly approach to aggression.  Its attacks on the tankers are typical of its way of making war.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014.
