The gas lines in Mexico city
Silvio Cantu, Jr.:
Mexico certainly produces enough energy for its domestic consumption. But it seems to be having a hard time securing its pipelines against theft. It should probably invest in some drones to have constant vigilance over the pipelines where the thefts are occurring.
Who is stealing all that gasoline in Mexico?Probably it is the cartels. What they are doing with it is not clear. They are probably using some of it to pay for the transportation of their illicit drugs to market and perhaps for some of the production cost. There is also the danger of them using the trucks used to haul the stolen gas for terrorist attacks in their criminal insurgency.
