Libya as a Model for Disarmament? Kim May Not Think So

John R. Bolton, the new national security adviser, pointed to Libya as an example of how to rid a hostile dictatorial state of its nuclear program. But the violent end of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi is likely to serve as a cautionary tale for Mr. Kim.
Overthrowing Qaddafi was one of the biggest strategic blunders in history.  It turned the country into a failed state and a terrorist haven.  It also made it a jumping off point for migration to Europe and the selling of Africans into slavery.  I don't think I would mention it in negotiations with North Korea.
