Is Trump trying to lose?

Though candidates usually take more moderate positions in the general election, Mr. Trump continues to alienate certain groups, leaving him stagnant in the polls.
I have begun to call him an alienation machine.  He is a guy who thinks he can win by subtracting  from his potential voter pool and seems to have no concern about voter turnout.  His supporters seem to think they can add to his support by insulting reluctant voters.

If the GOP had nominated any of the other major candidates in its primary, they would likely have a five to ten point lead over Hillary Clinton who is also a bad candidate.  She has the good fortune of running against the worst one in recent memory.

If Trump were trying to lose, ask yourself how he would be acting any differently?
