Democrats have few strong candidates to run in senate races

Weak Bench Hurts Democrats’ Effort to Retake Senate

Democrats are hobbled by less-than-stellar candidates with various flaws in races that could make the difference in winning a majority.
The party under the leadership of Obama, Reid, and Pelosi has been decimated with losses not only in congressional races but also in local and statewide races.  There has been an overwhelming rejection of liberalism in much of the US.  The only reason Hillary Clinton is competitive is that she is running against the one Republican she might be able to beat.  It is not because voters are embracing her leftist agenda.
