Simone Manuel Makes History in the Pool

With her tie for gold with Penny Oleksiak of Canada in the 100-meter freestyle, Manuel became the first African-American woman to win an individual event in swimming
Congratulations to the "other" Simone from the Houston area who tied for the gold in the 100-meter freestyle swim event.  Along with Simone Biles who also won the gold in gymnastics these two have made Texans proud of their accomplishments.
