Fuel exports up 10 percent
Fuel Fix:
This is a good deal for the refiners, but not necessarily a good deal for energy producers. Bottlenecks keep producers from delivering US crude to where it is needed because of a lack of infrastructure and antiquated laws like the Jones Act which prevents shipping on anything other than a few American owned and crewed boats. We are not able to take advantage of lower priced foreign carriers. It is also depressing the price of US produced crude relative to the world price.
