Obama's inaugural address
What was striking about it was the tepid response from the masses who had come to see it. It was as if they were already seeing disappointment in the direction he wants to go. His only remark that drew great applause was on the false premise that he and the left embrace about terrorist rights.
It was not a bad speech, but I do not think it was a great one either. I am sure that some will say so, but they will have to make that case since the speech itself did not.
Obama was at his best when he rejected the idea of American decline. That also will probably disappoint some of his supporters.
