The poisoned cup
Belmont Club:
The Irish Examiner reports that Mario Scaramella, the Italian "security expert" who met Alexander Litvinenko for lunch on or about the the time he contracted Polonium 210 poisoning, was arrested on arrival in Naples....It may be a clue as to his intentions but the finding of the British authorities that the poison was in Litvinenko's tea cup does not suggest it escaped into that vessel.
...
The big question is whether Scaramella -- and by implication Litvinenko -- were trafficking in Polonium 210; and whether some of the substance escaped containment to poison Litvinenko. Assuming the answer is yes, the next question becomes, who was Litvinenko's buyer? The fact that Livinenko gave instructions to be buried as a Muslim may provide a clue.
