Kerry, the new prince of peace
Jules Crittenden takes on Kerry's case for flip-flopping. Kerry remains one of the most incoherent men in public life. While Kerry continues to confuse steadfastness for stubbornness, it is time to recognize the stubborn willful ignorance of warfare by Kerry and the anti war left. We are fighting a relatively weak enemy in Iraq whose main weapon is a good PR machine that is geared to feeding copy to a compliant media. The enemy is still incapable of making a militarily significant attack. He relies on small ambushes and booby traps against our forces and attacks non combatants for most of his kills. Both of these types of attacks are geared to a PR campaign with a theme that most of the media is willing to swallow.
That theme is not that the enemy is engaging in serial violations of the Geneva Conventions.
No the enemy theme is that these militarily insignificant attacks are a failure of the US and not the enemy. Most of the media is reproducing these media events without criticism of the enemy murders and war crimes. The problem is, that if the media was not running with the enemy's PR events, there would be no reason whatsoever to engage in the deliberate murder of non combatants. Without the media's help, these guys would not have much of a war.
