Taliban continue futile attacks

Reuters:

Hundreds of Taliban guerrillas firing rocket-propelled grenades attacked a police station on Monday in southwestern Afghanistan, amid heightened violence in the south before a NATO deployment.

The Taliban suffered heavy casualties in a raid on the police station in a remote district of western Farah province before retreating, deputy provincial police chief Sayed Agha Saqib said.

If we can get the Taliban to keep this up they will attrite themselves out of existence in a matter of time. How bad are they? Well, with numerical superiority going up against a local police force they lost and retreated.

Greedy government slapped down by Supreme Court ruling

NY Times: States Can’t Keep Criminal Fines of Exonerated, Supreme Court Rules By a 7 to 1 vote, the justices struck down a Colorado law that required people cleared by the courts to file civil suits and prove their innocence. The ruling, in this case, seems logical.   The government should also revise the civil forfeiture rules.
