Insurgents blast strategic ice cream shop in Baghdad

CBS:

The evening was sultry and a cluster of Iraqis sat talking outside a neighborhood ice cream shop in western Baghdad. Then a car packed with explosives ripped through the happy scene. As police and residents rushed to help, a second suicide bomber plowed into the chaos.

The attack in Baghdad's Shiite-dominated western al-Shoulah neighborhood was one of two carefully coordinated bombings in Iraq on Sunday that killed at least 21 people, police said. In total, militant violence over the weekend took at least 38 lives, including those of three Americans.
B
oth bombers made a quick retreat to Paradise. The remaining insurgents were unable to sustain a capture of the strategic ice cream shop had to retreat since they had inadequate force to face Iraqi authorities rushing to the scene although some of them were killed in the second blast. Seriously, this attack on an ice cream shop demonstrates the impotence of the insurgents. How many people are going to switch to the side of ice cream haters. What kind of future world leader sets around thinking about a plan to blow up "dangerous" people eating ice cream? I guess it is the same group that blow up strategic pizza parlors. But, clearly the attacks must be strategic, since they certainly have no tatical value unless you are a war criminal who deliberately targets civilians in order to hit medical and police responders. But, this is just another example of weakness since they can no longer make direct attacks on police and medical people.
