Trump has trouble getting top legal representation

 Washington Post:

The former president’s current legal team includes a Florida insurance lawyer who’s never had a federal case, a past general counsel for a parking garage company and a former host at far-right One America News.
As a former general counsel, I have been surprised by Trump's inability to get big law firms to help him with his cases.  I frankly never had that problem when I was doing litigation management work.  George W. Bush did not have that problem when litigating with Gore in 2000.  He had Baker & Botts one of the top law firms in the country working for him.  It is a firm that I worked with on several cases and their litigators were top-notch.  I suspect he was able to get good firms to help him in his real estate business and it is unusual that they would not be willing to help in high-profile cases.
