Putin's fantasy world of lies

 NY Times:

Vladimir Putin has used outlandish falsehoods to prop up his claim that the Ukraine invasion was justified.
Ukraine was never a threat to invade Russia and would not have done so if it became a member of NATO.

What we are also seeing is Putin's refusal to take responsibility for his miscalculations on Ukraine.  In the process, he has also exposed the overall weakness of the Russian military. While he still has a few super weapons and nukes they are of little use in an operation like that in Ukraine.  He is apparently blaming his intelligence service for the failure of his operations.

The US should be examining its own intel operations since they generally predicted Putin would quickly win too.  US intel was wrong on the speed of the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan and followed that up by getting Ukraine wrong too.
