Impeachment is backfiring on Democrats
Despite the efforts by Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and the liberal media to cancel Donald Trump and his presidency, their efforts are having the opposite effect, according to a worried Politico reporter: Trump’s base is “getting stronger” since he left the White House — and an impeachment conviction would “make him even more powerful.”
Politico’s Tara Palmeri told MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace on Friday that there is now a “crusade” being waged on behalf of Trump in places like Wyoming, as reported by Fox News, where the former president is “way more popular” than Rep. Liz Cheney, who has been under intense fire over her vote to impeach Trump.
“People don’t want to hear anything against Trump. Actually, the more he stays out of the media, the more that he becomes this martyr, this looming figure over the GOP.”
...
Palmeri told Wallace she came to her conclusion about Trump’s popularity in Wyoming after talking with people about Cheney’s vote to impeach Trump, while she was in the state covering an anti-Cheney rally led by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).
The obviously-distraught Politico reporter told Wallace she went out of her way to find people who would defend Cheney, Wyoming’s highest-ranking congressional Republican.
“I actually went out of my way to try to find someone who would defend her and I really could not. She didn’t have that much name recognition, considering she’s a Cheney. I mean, I said her name at a hardware store, and someone shouted a threat.”
Palmeri seemed particularly surprised that Trump supporters she talked to were far more for Trump than for the Republican Party. An impeachment conviction — which now seems highly unlikely — would only make Trump even more powerful, she said.

No doubt to the chagrin of Tara Palmeri and other liberal media types, Wyoming is not the Lone Ranger when it comes to support for Donald Trump. Trump campaign pollster John McLaughlin told Newsmax TV’s Greg Kelly on Thursday that efforts to “cancel Trump” are “backfiring.”
...
I am not surprised. Democrats have been blinded by their hate for Trump and his supporters and do not understand the nature of his support. They have not only tried to cancel Trump, but his supporters, and that has only energized those supporters. All 10 of the Republicans who voted for impeachment will be fighting for their political careers. And at least 45 of the Senate Republicans have gotten that message.
