UK defends rationed health care as more cases reveal problems

Independent:

A British cancer patient yesterday described how she allowed herself to become the figurehead for a right-wing American campaign opposing the creation of an 'American NHS.'

Katie Brickell, 26, who has campaigned to raise awareness of cervical cancer since she was diagnosed with an "incurable" form of the disease three years ago, recorded a video telling Americans how she was "badly let down" by the British system.

...

Mrs Brickell, first asked for a smear test at the age of 19 but was told she didn't need one until she was 20-years-old. A year later, when she returned to her doctor, she was told that the age had been raised to 25. At 23, she was diagnosed with an incurable cervical cancer.

The Times has this horror story:

Thousands of women are being denied the most appropriate contraceptive because their doctors are not prescribing the safest Pill or offering alternative forms of birth control such as patches or injections.

Two studies published today confirm that all types of the Pill slightly increase the chances of a woman suffering blood clots, with some brands carrying a higher risk than others. And while the overall risk is low, the Dutch and Danish researchers conclude that too many women are not being given the safest tablets.

Another survey has found that fewer women are being given a choice of birth control method, in spite of a multimillion-pound government compaign to alert people to long-term alternatives to the Pill. Sexual health experts say that many women have to put up with painful periods, fluctuating weight and mood swings because doctors are prescribing a Pill that is not best tailored to their needs.

Those all knowing government panels strike again. Meanwhile the government and much of the media is trying to defend the Brit rationed health care system. You can find many more examples of the horrors of rationed health care under the tag below. Some of them show poor treatment for the troops after their injuries in Iraq and Afghanistan.

James Lewis at American Thinker has some thought on the Brits reaction to criticism of their rationed health care system.
