Calderon's war to save Mexico

Austin Bay takes a long look at Calderon's war against the drug thugs and the fight to modernize the Mexican oil industry. I have posted several things on the drug insurgency. Just click on the Mexico tag below.

On the oil issue, Mexico is still to insecure to let outsiders help them. I think they fear the people helping will take away the oil. Calderon's is facing opposition to the modernization necessary to expand their shrinking out put. The opponents are making the same mistake the Chavez has made in Venezuela. By running out the people that have made his country wealthy beyond its dreams, they will some day pay a price in shrinking production and earnings.
