Poll shows huge majority reject Democrat attempt to suppress Voter ID laws

Rasmussen asked a pointed question: “Should voters be required to show photo identification such as a driver’s license before being allowed to vote?”

The response was telling. The majority of 1,000 national likely voters queried said “yes.” The breakdown went like this: White 74%, Black 69%, and Other Non-White 82%. When all voter polling results were figured in, 75% said they were in favor of voter ID laws. That’s three out of four Americans.

Both Hume and Hemingway join a chorus of conservatives who are fighting tooth and nail for voter ID and to defeat H.R.1, the ironically named “For the People Act 0f 2021.”

Regardless of the overwhelming support by American voters for voter ID laws, the Democrats are pushing ahead to do away with them. This would allegedly make it far easier for fraud to occur and for illegal immigrants and others who would not normally be allowed to vote to cast ballots in elections. Those individuals reportedly tend to support Democrats because their policies favor their situations.

Thirty-six states have now put some form of voter ID law into place. Those laws will be struck down if the Senate approves H.R.1. The bill has already passed in the House. Critics of the leftist legislation say it “would force states to allow anyone to vote who simply signs a form saying that they are who they claim they are.”

Democrats incessantly claim that voter ID laws discriminate against minority voters. But that premise is rejected by voters by a nearly 2-to-1 margin.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) did not hold back on the bill: “It is the single most dangerous piece of legislation before Congress. What I call H.R.1 is the ‘Corrupt Politicians Act.’ […] It’s the number one bill. It’s not about COVID, It’s not about vaccinations, it’s not about getting people back to work, it’s not about getting kids back to school. It is about ensuring that Democrats remain in power and control for the next 100 years.”

He is far from alone in ringing the alarm bells over H.R.1 and voter ID laws.

Author and conservative firebrand Candace Owens was asked by Fox host Tucker Carlson if she was able to obtain a voter ID, Owens snarked: “I’m so excited to announce to the world that I was actually able to secure government-issued ID because I am smarter than a fifth-grader. And this is such “the bigotry of low expectations.” The Democrats know that … they are saying something absolutely foolish, the idea that black Americans are wandering around like Neanderthals, going “How do we do it?'”

Owens went on to point out that you have to have an ID to do a myriad of everyday things. She called the move “insulting” to black Americans. And she noted the ridiculous standard that you have to have an ID to get a vaccine but for some reason not to vote. She claims it’s all about power.

The Democrats' argument is absurd.  They want to facilitate fraud such as going into nursing homes and using patients' names as voters.  It is one of the tricks Democrat operatives used in 2020.
