These estimates are from Israel, but striking: vaccinate the 0.5% of people over 90, and total fatality risk drops 19%. Vaccinate the 2.5% over 80, and it falls by half. Vaccinate the 7.5% over 70, and it drops by 3/4. Age skew remains under appreciated.

A focus on the most vulnerable seems to have the greatest 
impact in stopping deaths from the virus.

Over 300K Texas care home residents, staff among first wave of vaccine recipients
Nursing homes and state-run living facilities have been especially hard hit by the pandemic. Getting vaccines to their residents will be a huge endeavor.

The Democrat surrender monkeys

Don Surber: ... The Democratic Party victory is seen as a victory for the opponents of democracy in the Middle East in general and Iraq in particular. I am not blaming Democrats. I blame the 31 million Americans who have given up after less than 4 years. They may not eat cheese, but they are surrender monkeys. That half of them supported the war when it began is sickening. I can deal with a Robert C. Byrd. He opposed sending our troops into harm’s way. But Jay Rockefeller? John Kerry? Jack Murtha?
