Osprey in the "fold"

MNFI:

Lights on the flight deck of the multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) illuminate an MV-22 Osprey attached to Marine Medium Tilt-rotor Squadron (VMM) 263 as it transits the Straits of Tiran. Wasp is on a surge deployment bringing the Osprey on its first combat deployment to the Middle East....
It is an interesting configuration for an aircraft designed to do contortions to become airborne. It looks like it might get to Iraq after most of the fighting is over. It should be an even more interesting aircraft in Afghanistan.
