Pelosi and riot committee sued by Mark Meadows
...
The lawsuit, filed in D.C. federal court on Wednesday, comes after the panel said it had "no choice" but to move forward with recommending criminal contempt of Congress proceedings against the subpoenaed former Trump White House chief of staff after he changed course and said he would no longer cooperate with its investigation.
Meadows, himself a former congressman, argued that the committee went too far when it tried to acquire records he described as "privileged" information, including his cellphone records.
I suspect he believes the documents are protected by executive privilege since he kept them as part of his job for the President. I seriously doubt that there is anything in his records that will help the investigation of the events of Jan. 6. I think the committee is just another rerun of the bogus impeachment efforts agaisnst Trump. They are trying to come up with an excuse to keep him from running against becasue they know they can't beat him.
