Democrats alienated much of their Hispanic base

 Politico:

Democrats fall flat with ‘Latinx’ language 
“Why are we using a word that is preferred by only 2 percent, but offends as many as 40 percent of those voters we want to win?” said one pollster.

I grew up in the Lower Rio Grande Valley surrounded by Hispanics and also have Hispanic friends of Cuban and Puerto Rican ancestry.  I do not recall any of them embracing the Latinx descriptor.
