‘Life Hasn’t Improved’: Hispanic GOP Candidate Says Democrats Have Made Things Worse For Latino Voters

There are a record 103 Hispanic GOP candidates running for seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, including Serrano, a Colombian American woman running to be the Republican candidate in Nevada’s 1st Congressional District. Serrano said former President Donald Trump’s presidency contributed to the wider trend of Hispanic and Latino voters shifting to the Republican Party.

“Once Donald Trump came into office, he was kind of ubiquitous on news stations. You couldn’t really get away from him,” Serrano told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “For me, I started paying attention to what he was saying, and to be honest I’d never really seen a politician before champion America or American citizens or really want to put American citizens first so that first grabbed my attention.”

“Hispanics are no different from white Americans, Asian Americans, black Americans, we all want safe communities, good schools, good-paying jobs, and just to overall live a good life,” she said. (RELATED: IN THEIR OWN WORDS: Why Hispanics And Latinos Are Shifting Right)

Serrano said Trump’s policies resonated with Hispanics as many hail from countries suffering from violent crime and extreme corruption.

Democrats seem to think things were great under liberalism, but Hispanics and middle America thought Trump made things better.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014. When the Congressional Budget Office crunched Obamacare's spending numbers, they estimated that only 7% of employees currently covered by employer-sponsored plans would lose their plans. ...
